I love being carded! Card Swap!!!

There's always a little rush of excitement when opening the mailbox. Placing the envelopes between your fingers, sifting through, anxiously flipping to the colorful one with the hand written address while avoiding the dreaded bills.



The lost art of hand written cards is being resurrected one card swapper at a time with "I love being carded!". (Original Post in Feb.09) With only a few changes our swapping continues. Each month a list goes out to the participants letting them know who they have to send a card to. We also send one additional card to "The Lucky One". This person receives a card from everyone. It's that easy....each month you send out two cards, just to brighten someone's day.

Giveaway Congrats and Swapping

There were so many of you interested in the The Monogram Divas, Monogram Bag. I have been writing and cutting....finally I picked the winner. Congratulations Aunt of 14 and thank you everyone for entering the drawing.

Cupcakes and fight against ovarian cancer, how cool! It is especially cool to me since I am an Ovarian Cancer Survivor.....(Woo! Hoo!) A few weeks ago I wrote a post about my battle. (Here) Well, I didn't actually say what I was fighting, I just alluded to it while I wrote about some of my feelings. I was 20 years old and scared poop-less, but with truly talents and caring doctors (with good research funds), nurses, friends and family I am here today and can help fight the fight. "Who me? I'm not a day over 21." (Fingers crossed behind my back with a mischievous smirk.)

No, it's not that kind of carded. It's the good kind, if you like mail. Who doesn't love going to the mailbox and getting a random card or note from a friend? I felt the love last fall when my husband and I were doing field work in Idaho. By far it was the most mail I have received in years. I can not stop thinking about how much fun it was and how special I felt. Now, I want you to experience "Good Mail" loven.

Why did I highlight "Good Mail".... It is all part of the plan. One of the people responsible for my mailbox glee has an Etsy shop where she sells "Good Mail" stickers. Examples:

Why "Good Mail" stickers? Well, this is a great way to identify our GANG. You know it's our way of throwing signs. ;D

For a month or so, I will collect the names of those interested. Then, I will create an invite only blog, for privacy due to personal information. Two things will happen....Every other week (that is once every two weeks) you will receive a name, example 1-50 people...1 sends a card to 2, 2 sends a card to 3, 3 to 4.... Then the next month 1 will send a card to 3, 2 to 4..... Don't worry, each month I will give FULL detail. Then ONE lucky person will be carded by all of us. Can you imagine how cool it will be to get 50+ cards in the mail? What will you write in the card? Anything you want, but I will also provide a question for you to answer, kind of like an ice breaker. Ex. What is your idea of a perfect vacation?

I have a hate-love relationship with Valentine's day. I hate it, because it reminds me of the year I was separated from my husband (he was deployed). Then every year after, I try to ignore it, but in the secret recesses of my heart, I want the heart chocolates and the dozen roses, and the lovey-dovey things that go along with the holiday. Argh!
