My Monday Pinterest Picks...Florida Theme Week...Coconuts

Source: tumblr.com via Silvana on Pinterest

With coconut oil and coconut water being the current cure-all new hands are grabbing for it...but why?
I guess we need to read up on clinical evidence instead of all the personal testimonies.

Now all I can think about is sipping on a  pina colada.
One for you and one for me....
I wish I could share the 80 degree weather too.

My Monday Pinterest Picks....

I just finished watching
The Rosa Parks Story.
A little reminder goes a long way.....

Rosa Louise McCauley (Rosa Parks) an African American civil rights activist whom the U.S. Congress later called “Mother of the Modern-Day Civil Rights Movement” was born on this day in Tuskegee, Alabama. She became famous for refusing to obey bus driver James Blake to give up her
seat to make room for a white passenger.

Let there be light....on a few of the good ones!

It was a fun Sunday night of commercial watching.
Of course the Calvin Klein commercial was a favorite too, but....you can look that one up yourself.

Swing

We are getting into the swing of things here in Montana.  While each day feels the same as the last, there always seems to be a little something that puts a smile on my face.

Long Live Cursive

Getting rid of cursive....for keyboard skills.
NO!

Forty-one states have so far adopted the new Common Core State Standards for English,
 which does not require cursive.
It is being argued that cursive is not as useful and it is time consuming to teach.

I am going to sit down today and write a letter so someone special in cursive.  Why don't you do the same.... (I'll give you my address if you need someone to write. wink!)

Happy New Year!
No, I'm not going crazy. I'm just reminding myself and you of that moment of renewal
when the clock stuck 12. With a sip of champagne and a kiss from someone special 2013 started.

Did you make a resolution?
How are you doing on your resolution?
resolution: the act determining upon an action or course of action, method, procedure, etc.; the act of resolving

So what if you didn't stick with your resolution? Are you going to wait until next year?

I'm not against resolutions, but I hate the feeling I get when I don't make it past the first week. I'm
thinking we should allow ourselves to start over the first of every month, so the commitment isn't so
fuzzy from cocktails. Or, we could also take the day to celebrate how well we are doing one month into
this change~improvement~commitment~resolution.

Get back on track to the best YOU!

In just a couple days it's February 1st....start planning for Happy New You!

Couture Buzz

If I could only have been a fly on the wall this week in Paris at one or all of the Spring/Summer 2013 Couture fashion collection shows. (On my Bucket list)
The couture wearing kind needed a shovel to get there due to traffic halting snow,
but the show(s) did go on.......

Karl Lagerfeld used the runway to not only share his sweeping splendors, but also
voice his support for same sex marriage.
Valentino's exquisitely crafted collection was one of the standout shows of the week.
A sneak peak into the spring gardens of  Dior.
Atelier Versace mink coat adorned with python, mirrors and crystal embroidery that took
500 hours to make....

Couture fashion...one statement at a time.

My Lazy Monday Pinterest Pick

Snowflakes....

It has been snowing on and off for a few days now. With a winter weather advisory in effect today I figured it was the perfect day to layer on comfy clothing and be a part of my new...old surroundings.  Our old landlords went out of town for a long weekend and asked us to dog, cow, cat and horse sit. From the minute I drove along the familiar fencing I felt the arms of Montana wrap around me. The copious amount of affection received by the animals without a doubt has improving my feelings of being homesick.

Even with colder than normal conditions I feel warm from the genuine love from my family and friends back home and here.

Ch Ch Ch Changes

"I watch the ripples change their size But never leave the stream"....

In 2003, my husband and I embarked to Missoula, Montana where we stayed for nearly four years. We rented "the little red house" that is tucked into the mountains with a picturesque view overlooking the city.  It was exactly what I wanted Montana to be, complete with cows and horses. Now we are back in Missoula, but "the little red house" is occupied by other tenants, so we had to make some changes.  Living in the city has its advantages and I think we are where we need to be right now.  Change has become a part of my reality, so I've learned to embrace it (with a little kicking and crying).  It's not easy, but the more real I am about my feelings with people the more I've come to understand that I am not alone. It's funny how that works.   I am slowly finding my rhythm with all of the changes.  Who knows maybe I'll even change my hair style...who am I kidding I've had the same style since the 80's minus the perm.
(O.k. that made me laugh out loud. I need to find a photo so you can see my big...I mean big hair.)

I have to ask...when did you last make a change in your life?

Sorry if I have caused you to hum Chnages by David Bowie all day.....
just know you're not alone...
.I will be too.

Time may change me But I can't trace time....
