Île d'Orléans, Quebec City

Rain, rain go away...and only come back for one or two days. At a time that is. It's pretty much been raining for the last 2 weeks. No joke.

After 7 days I couldn't avoid it any longer. I decided to make the most of Mother Natures soggy renderings and meander to one of my favorite Quebec getaways. My destination being Île d'Orléans. Just 20 minutes from my home this lovely island stole my heart the first time Mr. and I drove around it.

With my faithful (borrowed) companion, Sam, by my side the journey began.
If your not fond of bridges strap on your boots of courage because
that's the main way to get there outside of a boat.

It's all worth it once you turn around and look back.
The island is inhabited with approximately 7000 people many of which relay on the islands rich soil. Île d'Orléans has earned the nickname "Garden of Quebec".
It's an afternoon escape for tourist and locals alike looking for haute cuisine.

Undeniably, each turn you take leads you to another beautiful site.
Rain on my shoulders and droplets on my head, despite the
darkness it was only the colorful leaves that yielded me.
A moment of autumns beauty right before me.
Pomme trees waved in the blowing wind, stopping
me in my departing tracks. The scent alone could pause time.
I filled my bag with the island delights while thoughts of apple everything consumed me .
As it will happen, the road began to lead me home. Sam, some Spartans and
Cortlands too road in silence as I watched the island grow smaller.
