Whooaaaaaa there Nellie....

My goodness. It has been a crazy week and I need pull back on the reins.

Once again, I found myself brushing my ears and cleaning my hair. I slipped and fell on the ice more than once. It's everywhere. I think it's a not so gentle reminder from Mother Nature to slow down. I hurt my bum, which in my mind is a great excuse not to workout. I guess some people will do anything to get out of going to the gym....finger pointing at myself. Then, I impaled my right breast with the remote while trying to clean beside the couch. Don't ask. It's actually too embarrassing.... All I know is that it sounded like "the dog ate my homework" excuse to my very part time personal trainer. Who in return had little compassion. I topped the Richter scale of excuses with that one. To make matter more ridiculous my boob and butt still hurts. Now, pass me my pacifier.

I had the word ridiculous in the Google box when I tapped images... here are a few photos deemed "ridiculous" ....

I'd say this is ridiculously cute.....

Have a great weekend. Feel free to share any ridiculous moment from your week.

Have you ever?

Have you ever left a message on a professional or personal
answering machine that made you sound absolutely ridiculous?
I mean so stupid you couldn't have sounded more stupid if you tried.
No, me neither.....

No seriously, I just did and I quite certain the person will not be calling me back.
That or she are playing it for everyone in the office to hear...I think I hear them cackling.

Just the idea of it makes me shudder then laugh.shudder.laugh.

Then...

I went to We Heart It to get a photo of a phone and 99% of the photos are of this

Not this....

I feel so old.

All photo from...we heart it because I heart them.

Dusty Love

I don't know whether to laugh or hide my face in shame. My husband left me a sweet message on the television....in the dust. Sigh.

*Don't be jealous of our rocken' 80's television with a VHS player built in. You can be a little jealous..it's o.k. In fact, we watched a VHS movie, loaned to me from another VHS user, on Saturday. Now, if you'll excuse me I am off to tease my hair and spray it with some Aqua Net before my Valentine comes home.

Happy Valentine's Day to you.

CHANGE and a Giveaway

Change...it doesn't just happen. You have to work at it especially when it comes to eating better to improve your health. This isn't rocket science I know, but it's crazy how many things I have wanted to change in my life, yet I kept doing the same thing over and over expecting different results. (Definition of insanity)

Change doesn't have to mean boring flavorless food. According to a recent survey by Yoplait Fiber One, Americans are fed up with flavorless, boring snacks – and claim they are a contributor to diet failure.
Men and women across America have declared flavorless, boring snacks are a contributor to the downfall of their dieting success. According to a recent survey conducted by Opinion Research Corporation (Infogroup) on behalf of Yoplait® Fiber One™ yogurt¹, more than half of female participants have been on a diet at some point in their lives. These participants claim their dieting efforts are derailed by a lack of tasty snacks, describing the typical diet foods as “flavorless.” Luckily, help is on the way for dieters who are bored with tasteless snacking options.
(Click for more on this.)
One solution is Yoplait Fiber One Blueberry yogurt. With 50 calories, 5 grams of fiber and 0 grams of fat, Yoplait Fiber One Blueberry yogurt is a perfect solution, packed with real fruit and the great taste of blueberries that you’ll love. As an added bonus, the deliciously creamy yogurt also contains vitamins A and D and is a good source of calcium.

I was provided with a coupon, information, a prize pack for review and a prize pack for giveaway by Yoplait and Fiber One through MyBlogSpark. They are very giving...and want to be part of your positive change. I received this great gift package with a VIP Coupon for a free sample of the new flavor (this coupon has expired, but they are working on providing something similar...better), as well as a fitness journal and pen, sport towel, water bottle and blueberry stress ball.

They would also like to offer the same thing to one of you. Here is how:

Oh my lbs.

Why is it the more I workout the larger I feel. O.k. maybe I'm rushing the moment, but baby steps and fitness don't go hand in hand for me. I want results darn it. I want to see that my efforts are being acknowledged. One pound...no, I'm thinking 10 pounds in a week. Snap out of that dream....I know.

All that being said...I know I'm doing it the right way. I'm cutting back my proportions, but I'm not banning foods I enjoy. I'm also being advised by a fitness guru who doesn't understand the words "I can't". While my efforts are grand and my poundage loss minimal...I'm doing it.

What helpful hints can you provide me?

Let me warm you up GIVEAWAY!

Are you snowed in?

Mother Nature has heard your prayers and witnessed your snow dance kids.
She heard you loud and clear in Chicago.

While snow continues to flutter it hasn't really accumulated here. It's the harsh blowing wind that has me chilled to the bone. The first thing I do when I wake up or walk into the house after work is heat up some water. My husband and I seem to always be grasping a hot mug of tea or coffee while relaxing around the house.

It's for that reason that I've decided to host a giveaway for one of my favorite small appliances...
a Cordless Electric Tea Kettle.
I purchased this from CSN for my dad's birthday, my sister-in-law's birthday and now for
one of my readers who needs to be warmed up.

Proctor Silex Features:

* Black finish
* Cordless
* 1500 Watts
* On/Off light
Retails for $39.99 on sale for $29.89
This 1.7 liter cordless kettle will rapidly boil water so you can sit back and relax with your tea. Features include nonspill spout, boil dry protection, auto shutoff design, boil-dry protection and safety locking lid dual water windows.
